Warehouse Carpenter

Primary Functions:

As a Warehouse Carpenter, you will be responsible for various tasks related to crating, skidding, pick and pull operations, and utilizing cloud-based Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Your expertise in carpentry, technical knowledge, and attention to detail will be instrumental in ensuring efficient and accurate warehousing operations.


Basic Qualifications:

A highly effective Warehouse Carpenter will be efficient and detail oriented, have an interest in the logistics industry and strive to provide best-in-class service and safety to BNSF Logistics employees and customers.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Construct high-quality wooden crates and skids to safely package and transport various products.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to determine specific packaging requirements for different types of products, ensuring proper protection during storage and transportation.
  • Utilize carpentry tools and equipment to measure, cut, shape, and assemble wooden materials according to specifications.
  • Follow industry best practices and safety guidelines to ensure compliance with quality standards and minimize the risk of damage during transit.
  • Perform pick and pull operations accurately and efficiently, following the guidelines provided by the warehouse management team.
  • Use cloud-based Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track inventory, update records, and perform necessary administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure seamless coordination and communication throughout the warehouse operations.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Conduct regular inspections of crates, skids, and storage units to identify any signs of damage or wear, promptly reporting any issues to the supervisor.
  • Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, including loading/unloading shipments, inventory management, and general maintenance.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
  • 2+ years related experience and/or training required.
  • Technical knowledge in operating cloud-based Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment required
