Northwest Center is currently seeking a Warehouse Sorter to join our spirited team and play a critical role in efficiently organizing and categorizing books in our bustling warehouse. Join us in making a meaningful impact as part of our nonprofit organization, dedicated to promoting the growth, development, and independence of people with disabilities through programs of therapy, education, and work opportunity.

As a Warehouse Sorter, you will work in a welcoming environment at an assigned workstation and equipped with a scanner, ensuring that you can excel in your responsibilities. Your work will not only contribute to the smooth logistics operations but will also play a vital role in supporting our organization's overall mission of empowering individuals with disabilities.

This is an entry-level position, and we can offer flexible schedules tailored to accommodate your needs!

Location: Seatac, WA

Schedule: Weekdays, flexible schedules available between 8 am – 7:30 pm

Wage: Starting Wage: $20 per hour | Full Wage Range: $20 - $21 per hour

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Independently examining books and determining its category based on predetermined criteria using a scanner. Categorizing books according to the established guidelines.
  • Working efficiently and effectively to maintain a steady workflow, sorting books in a timely manner.
  • Properly operate and maintain the scanning equipment and other tools required for the sorting process.
  • Reporting any equipment malfunctions or issues promptly to leadership.
  • Working effectively with others as a team to complete daily tasks.


What You Need for This Role:

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in categorization.
  • Comfortability working within a non-climate controlled warehouse
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to lift, carry and organize up to 30lbs consistently
  • Ability to kneel, squat, crouch, bend, stoop, and twist at the knees/waist/neck.
  • Ability to handle and grasp with both hands.
