Salary Range: $170,872 - $230,672
Position Summary:
The Injury Prevention Coordinator for the Adult Injury Prevention Program coordinates injury prevention, community and professional outreach education, and program development activities. The Coordinator is responsible for the hands-on, day-to-day management and support of all prevention activities, strategic planning, and budgeting. The Coordinator serves as the communicator and resource link to the Section of Trauma, Acute Care Surgery. Work involves extensive public contact and includes acting as a liaison with local public health staff, other professionals, community-based organizations, and government agencies, for example EMS, Police, and Fire Departments. The Coordinator represents the WHHS Trauma Program and is delegated broad responsibility for program implementation and works with considerable independence. The Coordinator will assist with presentations to hospital committees and American College of Surgeons for trauma reviews. This position reports to the Trauma Program Director and the Trauma Medical Director.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Health or Human Services, required
(Master’s Degree in community health education or other health or human services-related field (preferred.)
License/ Certification Required
- Trauma Outcomes Performance Improvement (TOPIC), Injury Prevention Course (American Trauma Society) within 12 months of hire.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) required for nurses within 12 months of hire.
- One of the following: California Nursing License, California Paramedic License, or other related Healthcare Provider license or degree (example: Occupational/Physical Therapist, Social Worker)
- Valid CA Driver’s License
- BLS CPR
Work Experience:
- Three (3) years of previous injury prevention experience or working with community program development, outreach and education, required
- Five (5) or more years of previous injury prevention experience working with community program development, grant writing, and fundraising, demonstrating the ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse range of groups, professionals, agencies, media, community members, and patients, preferred
Computer Skills:
Strong knowledge of database management, computers, Windows, Microsoft Office, and statistical reports.
