Job Description

As an Engagement Manager in the Strategy & Transformation practice you will lead and own client-facing advisory and consulting engagements as well as business operations and strategic development projects. In this leadership role you will utilize your broad and deep business consulting experience to successfully partner with our clients to achieve their vision and goals.  

In this position you will direct a team of consultants to meet or exceed client engagement performance metrics in quality, delivery, profitability, and productivity.  Additionally, you will be responsible for the identification, recommendation, and implementation of client solutions rooted in best practices, solutions frameworks, proven methodologies, and industry trends. As an Engagement Manager, you will also develop business for existing/new clients and play a key role in contributing a significant share of revenue for the business consulting vertical. 

 
RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead the design and execution of global strategy development projects, comprising of business and data analytics and senior level stakeholder engagement. Lead and own large client initiatives and programs including strategy planning, operating model development/interaction modeling, portfolio evaluation, market research, industry trending, workflow management, and process mapping. Ensure the delivery of quality work, on time and within budget. 
  • Direct, implement and continuously improve practice strategies, goals, core competencies and processes to support overall company objectives. 
  • Execute business development plans including lead qualification, problem/solution exploration, proposal generation and related client meetings. 
  • Contribute to business development goals established by leadership. 
  • Lead and motivate internal direct reports as well as client project team members. Provide regular feedback and development-focused coaching. 
  • Support talent recruitment by acquiring and developing high potential talent. 
  • Identify, recommend, and implement best practices and proven delivery methodologies in support of solving client challenges. 
  • Develop overall governance programs to effectively define, monitor, and support programs and strategies.
  • Facilitate client meetings and conversations that result in clear outcomes and common understanding. 
  • Develop and deliver clear and compelling business presentations/reviews for internal and external audiences. 
  • Continually evaluate and learn new tools, processes, or approaches to further improve existing methodologies. 
  • Actively participate in and represent the company at business marketing events such as speaking engagements, networking events, executive events, and seminars. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a variety of disciplines to include Business, Marketing, Technology, Engineering, Human Resources, Organizational Design.  
  • Master’s/MBA preferred. 

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 

  • 5 or more years’ relevant experience in business management consulting including people leadership in marketing, operational improvement, business transformation, product/service development, mergers & acquisition, or related experience. 
  • Successful track-record of leading strategic and transformative projects in both a consulting and industry environment that includes owning deliverables and implementing creative client solutions. 
  • Well-developed business acumen including policy alignment, concise communication, and technology solutions in support of a client’s strategic goals. 
  • Demonstrated success executing business development plans and goals. 
  • A focus on strategic planning including critical thinking, bringing structure to ambiguous situations, and leading toward a future vision.
  • Well-developed communications skills, including expertise in delivering compelling presentations to stakeholders. 
  • Effective problem resolution skills including the ability to break a problem down into solvable components. 
  • Demonstrated customer focus that conveys a genuine concern for customer needs and generates customer satisfaction. 
  • People leadership includes experience serving as a coach and mentor in support of individual and team development. 
  • Proven ability to build trusting interpersonal relationships, and model professional demeanor when faced with opposition. 
  • Ability to travel based on client requirements.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 

  • 8 or more years in business management consulting, including team leadership, with deep experience in strategy planning, operating model development/interaction modeling, portfolio evaluation, market research, industry trending, workflow management, and process mapping, or related experience. 
  • Experience developing a practice or set of service offerings to clients. 
  • Flexibility and confidence to contribute to any of Aspirant’s other practice areas including Organizational Effectiveness, Technology Consulting, Digital Consulting, Marketing & Innovation, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Sales.
  • Prior consulting experience with big four consulting companies. 
  • Process improvement/Six Sigma/Lean Sigma experience.
