As we grow, our Associates will continue taking the lead in bringing joy to even more friends and neighbors: one hoagie, smile, or experience at a time.The Head of Talent Management and Strategy plays a pivotal role in guiding and implementing comprehensive strategies across various areas, including Learning and Development, Performance Improvement, Talent Management, Organizational Design, Talent Acquisition, Employment Branding, and Change Enablement. These efforts aim to cultivate a culture of ongoing learning and development throughout the organization, ultimately paving the way for sustained business growth and success.Principle Duties:• Develop a strategy for performance improvement and management based on the largest organizational business objectives. Oversee the function that completes performance gap investigation (Talent), root cause investigation, and diagnosis, and generate cross-functional, integrated solutions that close the defined gap.• Develop a strategy for developing all Wawa human capital and high-level learning and development strategies. Oversee the team that develops methodologies and curriculum and program development, instructional design, knowledge management, learning evaluation and analysis, graphic design and branding, content curation and management, and learning technology.• Develop a strategy for enabling change throughout the organization. Lead the function that develops methodologies and executes change risk assessment, resistance mitigation, adoption planning, implementation planning, impact assessment, change measurement and readiness, and Store Operations change enablement process management.• Design plans to integrate all talent development activities into all aspects of the business. Partner cross-functionally with every department to link into business strategy, process, and goals. Model and instill the culture and organizational values within the talent management/development solutions.• Lead the organizational design function and develop plans and methodologies to enable Company success and continued growth.• Responsible for the end-to-end strategy design and execution of all recruiting strategies for Store Operations, Corporate, and the Wawa Beverage Company as well as the ongoing management of and refinement of the Company’s Employment Branding strategy.• Collaborate with People Team leadership to support the implementation of new policies, plans, and procedures as well as understand and align the long- and short-term HR strategy, plan, and priorities into designs. Collect feedback from the HR Business Partners regarding the delivery of products, programs, and services to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness.• Lead the development of succession planning programs for all leaders across Wawa. Set policy and guidelines for advancement criteria, potential rankings, eligibility for promotion, and job postings.• Develop strategies and solutions that best position the Company to attract, retain, and develop diverse talent that supports the Company’s strategic growth, innovation, and competitive advantage.• Provide overall direction and support for the team and monitor and assess individual work in accordance with high standards of excellence. Provide feedback, coaching, support, and development opportunities, complete performance appraisals, take corrective action when appropriate, and participate in hiring decisions.Attributes:• Communicate effectively to all levels of the organization both orally and in writing• Align and collaborate across organizational boundaries• Articulate strategy and initiatives into action plans• Analyze information and effectively propose solutions• Negotiate effectively• Handle multiple priorities simultaneously• Work independently as well as in a team environment• Establish and maintain a working environment conducive to positive morale, individual style, quality, creativity, and teamwork• Innovative and proactive problem-solving skills with strong business acumen, a solid understanding of group and corporate dynamics, and the ability to exercise integrity and sound judgment in complex business situations.• Ability to think strategically and systemically• Highly developed consultative, facilitative, and project management skillsQualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline preferred; Master’s degree a plus• Minimum 10 years of experience in Talent Management, Learning & Development, Organizational Design or related experience preferred, and relevant management experience• Strong understanding of Human Performance Improvement, WFP & Change Management fields• Proven track record of developing learning & leadership strategies aligned with business objectives and translating into operational plans with strong results• Deep understanding of the learning technology landscape and proven ability to oversee organization-wide technology implementations• Prior experience in a project manager role with proven ability to effectively lead a large-scale project or initiative• Prior experience in leading work groups and facilitating productive brainstorming sessions• Prior experience in a retail organization and familiarity with a geographically dispersed hourly workforce preferred• Proven ability to think conceptually, inspire creativity, and provide direction on how to operationalize ideas• Highly skilled in Microsoft Office suite applications• Strong financial orientation with proven ability to manage a P&LWawa will provide reasonable accommodation to complete an application upon request, consistent with applicable law.
