Financial Planner

Your career is an investment that grows over time!

Wealthsimple is on a mission to help everyone achieve financial freedom by reimagining what it means to manage your money. Using smart technology, we take financial services that are often confusing, opaque and expensive and make them transparent and low-cost for everyone. We’re the largest fintech company in Canada, with over 4 million users who trust us with more than $50 billion in assets.

Our teams ship often and make an impact with groundbreaking ideas. We're looking for talented people who keep it simple and value collaboration and humility as we continue to create inclusive and high-performing teams where people can be inspired to do their best work.

We’re building the world’s most human financial company, using technology to scale the value we provide to our clients, and people to add value where only humans can. The Financial Planning team is about providing an amazing financial planning experience to all of our Premium and Generation clients to help them achieve their biggest goals and build long lasting client love and trust.

As a Financial Planner, you will join a high-performing team responsible for supporting our Premium and Generation clients with their financial planning needs. In this role, existing and prospective clients will be connected with you for advice and guidance. You will ensure they are taking the ideal steps with Wealthsimple to reach their financial goals and assist with consolidation

Today the financial services industry is an oligopoly dominated by five big banks.  They charge high fees, and provide poor service to clients with less than $3M in net worth.  Additionally over $2T in assets are in the Wealth Management sector and a large portion of these assets are investing with high fees and poor returns. We believe that it is time for something different for Canadians. While many financial services companies offer self-directed products, none offer high quality financial planning services from CFPs un-attached to traditional advisor and mutual fund fees.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Challenge the wealth management industry status quo.
  • Work directly with engaged clients on a range of challenging and unique financial planning and investing situations.
  • Own your consolidation and activity targets.
  • Work with 40+ clients a week helping them plan and make the right financial decisions, with minimal time spent on non-advice activities.
  • Maintain strong follow up so clients can actually experience the benefits of financial planning.
  • Help clients consolidate their assets at Wealthsimple through impactful advice.
  • Be on the front lines talking to prospective and current clients, getting them excited about how we can help them achieve their goals .
  • Communicate most of the time via phone and video with clients.
  • Work cross functionally to bring financial planning advice into our products and communications.

Skills and experience we’re looking for
  • Client-focused - Always put the client first
  • Designations - Must have CFP.
  • Years of Experience - Must have 4 years + of experience providing financial planning to clients.
  • Track record - A strong track record of owning your KPIS and hitting targets.
  • Bilingual  - French speaking is a highly valued asset.
  • Passion - Possesses a passion and energy for financial planning and investing and shares this with clients.
  • Excellence mindset - Always striving to know more, grow in your role, and master your craft.
  • Technology - Embraces technology and the role it plays in financial services.
  • Communication - Superb communication skills are a must.
