About The Role

We are looking for a Mid Level Front End Web Developer to join our development team and play a major role in the development, maintenance, and deployment of D2C user-facing features with a focus on Shopify and eCommerce.

Process

Your role will be a major contributor to all aspects of the web application development lifecycle while solving challenging technical problems for our clients. You will work closely with our developers and collaborate with designers and product managers, through the design, development, testing, and deployment processes.

As a Mid Level Web Developer, you will be tasked with primary feature development, issue mitigation, maintenance, and ongoing support of front-end web platforms and systems.

Technologies

Our storefront runs on Shopify Plus, so you should be comfortable with Liquid templating and generally know your way around Shopify theme development, deployment, and API. Subscriptions are the backbone of our business so having experience with Recharge or other subscription technologies is highly desirable. While we are currently on Shopify, experience with headless and a solid understanding of how to evolve our technologies are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Programming Websites from Design, Development, to Deployment

• Program in HTML/Liquid/CSS/Javascript and able to develop rich client experiences from mockups from the ground up.

Version Control

• Should be able to create branches and orchestrate and maintain code versioning using tools, such as Git. (Github, Bit Bucket, or Gitlab)

Design

• Translate designs and style guides into functional user interfaces in all cross-browser and device environments.

API & Third-Party Technologies

• Develop user interfaces that connect Shopify themes with APIs utilizing REST, GraphQL, and AJAX technologies to integrate with our third-party apps such as Recharge, Builder.io, Yotpo, Klaviyo, etc.

QA and Testing

• Utilize knowledge of tools to build, test, and deploy code related to the eCommerce platform and functional business requirements.
• Run and monitor website conversion a/b tests.

Working with Others

• Collaborate with internal business teams and vendors to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions.
• Provide technical feasibility feedback and scoping to support UI/UX designs and 3rd party integrations.

Skills, Experience, & Qualifications

• You have a minimum of 3+ years of front-end programming experience using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and at least 3+ years of web development experience in E-Commerce, including Shopify (Plus) experience.

• Experience developing Shopify themes, with a firm grasp of Liquid.
• Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.
• Front end and visualization experience using JavaScript and extensive experience with JavaScript libraries and frameworks like JQuery/React/Vue/Angular/Next.JS with Shopify.

• Expert knowledge of CSS/SCSS and implementing web animations.

• Knowledge of page load optimization.
• Good understanding of state and cache management.
• Verify technical configurations, including DNS records and email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Experience building user interfaces using third-party APIs.
• Familiarity with accessibility and data privacy concepts (GDPR, CCPA, DSAR)
• Good coding form and understanding of SEO.
• Good understanding and resolution of cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Fluency with version control and dev/staging environments.
• A commitment to creating readable, clean, and well-documented code.
• The ability to multitask, prioritize and accomplish tasks over multiple projects and meet predefined deadlines.
• An appreciation for design, aesthetics, and typography.
• Experienced with SVG creation and use in design.

• Work with cross-functional teams and participate in design discussions, decision-making, and code reviews.
• Strong design instincts and enjoys working collaboratively with a team of designers.
