DescriptionThe Director of Creative Services leads, develops, executes and measures the effectiveness of the creative and brand management for print, digital, and outdoor creative projects in a manner that supports and strengthens the Webster University global brand. The director will manage and inspire a team of designers, videographers, photographers and outside vendors, overseeing all phases of the creative process to produce high-quality, strategically grounded creative. The director will also collaborate and strategize with the website and social media teams on how to effectively deploy creative assets on digital platforms. This position reports to the Chief Communications Officer and works collaboratively with other directors/managers within the Global Marketing and Communications Unit and with internal partners across the Webster University international campus network.Deliver innovative, creative and successful solutions for diverse and geographically dispersed internal partners.Lead the ideation and development of creative campaigns and concepts for the Global Marketing and Communications (GMC) department, covering traditional and digital channels.Facilitate creative brainstorming sessions for campaigns that support the University's goals, mission and vision.Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to inspire and lead creative teams in a complex and diverse organizational structure.Collaborate with creative teams and other stakeholders to ensure final product is true to the approved concept and campaign objectives.Work with our Marketing Manager to enhance and ensure consistency of Webster University's brand across all materials, adhering to brand guidelines.Collaborate with other Unit directors to ensure consistency across channels and areas of expertise.Passionate dedication to creativity, anticipation of market needs and commitment to best practices.Strong problem-solving skills, ability to understand and identify key strategic issues, and develop creative design solutions to assignments.Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.Outstanding interpersonal skills with a consultative approach.Location:Webster Groves Campus-WEBGMinimum QualificationsA minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a creative role either in-house or in an agency environment.A minimum of 2 years as a supervisor/managing staff.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, design or related field.Experience in a leadership role, outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse campus and public community.Ability to work independently and to lead teams, which can include direct reports, departmental colleagues, external partners, and internal constituents with varied knowledge and skills.Ability to assess, evaluate and manage outside vendors.Ability to think creatively and develop new design concepts and campaign assets in the higher education space.Highly proficient in the latest Adobe Creative Suite software, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, Adobe Flash.Knowledge of videography/photography production and software highly desirable.Previous experience in higher education a plus.DepartmentStrategic Communications-STCMSpecial Instructions For ApplicantApplicants must include cover letter, resume, link to portfolio of previous creative work, and three professional references.Physical DemandsWithin the normal range of an office environment.
