Safety Consultant

WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Safety Consultant in our Plover, Wisconsin location.Job SummaryPerform entry level field audits and observations to gather information while consulting and advising the department on health and safety issues. Conduct investigations of accidents, injuries, tools, equipment, work methods or other issues.Job Responsibilities• Audit safety performance through observation and inquiry. Identify improvement opportunities and inform facility management of issues and solutions.• Act as a professional resource for all levels of employees while providing an expert perspective on safety.• Deliver safety training programs and materials.• Conduct industrial hygiene exposure monitoring for various physical, biological and chemical agents to determine employee exposures.• Pursue personal development of technical expertise in a broad range of subject matter relative to safety.• Assist, develop (or facilitate diverse teams) to develop programs, policies and procedures and coordinate implementation to assure the health and safety of personnel while controlling company losses.• Establish and maintain good working relationships with facility employees and department leaders.• Serve on local safety committees while offering expert perspective on safety issues.• Support diversity by actively seeking out and encouraging diversity in perspective and by establishing an environment of inclusion.Minimum Qualifications• Bachelors Degree in Safety or equivalent experience.• The Associate Safety Consultant is an entry level position for which safety or utility experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
