About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer for support CTO automation products. This is a senior level position responsible for leading system design and architecture, in partnership with Enterprise Architecture and Senior Developers, to deliver technology solutions and support for Foundational Automation products: Workload Automation / Job Scheduling (AutoSys, CA7), IT Process Automation (Amelia Orchestration), Cognitive AI (Amelia Chatbot), and the Major Incident Management (MIM) application.You will join a focused team of Engineers and Application Support introducing and advancing automation, engineering, and and production support disciplines across all products in the portfolio. The team will drive technology transformation and adoption of SRE aligned enterprise capabilities and products, launch new tooling enablement, automate complex issues, and integrate with the latest technologies.The role will support all aspects of application deployments from software development, through release management, and operational support ensuring our systems have full stack observability, introduce continuous improvement through code and automation, provide operational insight through analytics, continuously testing, are integrated with CI/D and work with application teams to ensure products and service we provide are always on.The team is comprised of a diverse and global workforce, operating out of multiple locations in the United States and India enabling follow the sun model.In this role, you will:• Create target state vision through designs, standards, and patterns• Review and approve new standards, patterns, and practices• Capture current state through design and technical documentation• Advise implementation design to ensure alignment with standards, patterns, and best practices• Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions• Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership to influence product roadmaps and drive adoption of existing capabilities.• Establish strong relationships with Enterprise Architecture and Technology Principals to drive strategic outcomes.• Work with Product Owners, Principal Engineers, and internal customers to develop robust and scalable solutions.• Share support responsibilities for critical applications and customer journeys including leading technical resolution of high priority incidents with cross-functional partners, remediation of issues, conducting of blameless postmortems, root cause analysis and introduce continuous improvement solving problems once and for all with the goal of no repeats.• Automate key operational metrics and processes including intake processes, availability of critical systems, SLO/SLI adherence, error budgets, and reduce time to recovery.• Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, including architecture design, development, testing and scaling.• Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in AI, software development and system architecture.• Strong advocate of software engineering best practices and bring disciplined approach to testing, continuous delivery, and reducing technical debt, including implementing and adopting test driven development practices to ensure quality releases.• Contribute to community forums and communities of practice within the companyRequired Qualifications:• 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, and education• 5 + years of designing and building observability solutions (Splunk, Grafana, Elastic, App Dynamics, Prometheus) leveraging industry standard toolsets and or custom built solutions• 5+ years of experience performing engineering and support tasks on Linux/Unix and Windows Servers• 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies• 3 + years of experience supporting enterprise level, complex applications and platforms• Strong technical communication skills (verbal and written) to interface with cross-functional technical teams within and/or outside of the organization• Must have robust experience with modern SDLC and release (CICD) practicesDesired Qualifications:• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.• Strong proficiency in React and its ecosystem (Redux, React Router, etc.).• Familiarity with Selenium, Playwright and/or Cypress for automated testing of application interfaces.• Experience supporting both in-house developed and commercial off-the-shelf software.• A curiosity to learn new technologies, an ability to self-start and the discipline to prioritize while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment• Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and KanbanJob Expectations:• Maintain full visibility and understanding of all risk and control activities, cross product strategies and initiatives, policies and processes, and advise on forward-looking change to strategy that will ensure best risk posture for Foundational Automation• Engage in major risk and control efforts and other engagements with the lines of defense to ensure Foundational Automation maintains a strong risk posture.• This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.• This position offers a hybrid work schedule (3-days a week in-office; no set days).Pay Range:• New York, NY Pay Range: 144,400.00 - 300,000.00 USD AnnuallyPay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position.
