Job DescriptionAs a Director - Human Resources you will develop and administer human resources programs and policies that support company goals and positively engage the workforce. You will advise and coach leadership on all human resources issues with broad and current subject matter knowledge. You will provide primary human resources support for region or business line including generalist activities through the employee life cycle of attraction, selection, development, and retention.Responsibilities:• Assists in developing positive labor/management relations in unionized facilities, including advising managers in the grievance procedure• Negotiates collective bargaining agreements and works to support positive labor-management relations• Partners with business leaders to create an inclusive, high performing culture that recognizes and values diversity and leads to positive employee engagement.• Leads organizational design initiatives to optimize organization effectiveness. Help leaders introduce change and support employees during the change. Partners with the COE on talent development initiatives.• Maintains awareness of trends and issues in human resources using metrics to make recommendations to business leaders. Coaches business leaders on HR matters ensuring compliance with company policies and local employment laws.• Investigates employee concerns and complaints and recommends appropriate actions. Works with legal on employment litigation matters.• Oversees and directs annual HR processes for the assigned region or business unit including performance management, salary increases, leadership and organization review.• Develops talent acquisition strategy with hiring managers and oversees recruitment and selection activities for assigned regions / business units.• Leads, develops, and mentors direct reports.Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree in Business, HR, or related field required; Masters' Degree in Business, HR, or related field preferred.• Licenses/Certificates/Designations- PHR, SPHR or GPHR certification preferred.• 10 years of prior experience with merges, acquisitions and union or union-avoidance activities experience required.• 10 years required, 15 preferred of progressive HR Generalist experience with multi-unit, matrix and geographic exposure.• 10 years required of HRIS experience.• 10 years of prior management experience over a team of exempt and non-exempt employees, some of which may be remotely managed is required.• 10+ years of progressively responsible HR Generalist experience with multi-unit, matrix, and geographically dispersed employees.• Demonstrated experience in building collaborative business partnerships. Ability to influence all levels of management on human capital, business issues and decisions and transfer into strategy and results.• Strong communication, facilitation and presentation skills to communicate with all levels of management, staff, outside agencies and customers to drive business results.• Excellent interpersonal and project management skills, and ability to execute large-scale initiatives in a complex, matrix environment while maintaining focus on the business and its customers.• Understanding and demonstrated skill set relative to organizational culture and change management initiatives to better integrate into the organization's strategic objectives.• Solid operational knowledge of functional areas of HR, including performance management, succession planning, compensation, rewards and recognition, employee relations, compliance and talent acquisition and retention.• (For Operations Positions Only) Significant experience with hourly workforces, including labor relations and negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
