In this position, you act as Western Union’s Security Administrator, serving as a technology and strategy partner to our HR Business Partners, Executive Leaders and HR Systems Team for overall security architecture and governance across the Workday platform. This includes responsibility for providing the highest level of technical and functional expertise in Workday Security and other cross functional HCM SKUs, having demonstrated independent work in the design and implementation of complex solutions, and knowledge of the capabilities and limitations within configuration and maintenance of various security groups such as role-based, user-based, segmented, intersection, aggregation, and organization memberships. Also, you will own the development, configuration responsibility, and maintenance of security policies for domains, business processes, dashboards, and reports. You will follow strict adherence to global and local data regulations such as GDPR and ensure security by design including principles such as segregation of duties and least privilege. The person in this role also supports ad hoc projects and Workday Release preparation, the enablement of new features and troubleshoots and resolves user access issues. Additionally, the role holder responds to audit requests and security-based inquiries, defines security governance and controls based on data privacy and security best practices and provides guidance and recommendations on projects, activities, enhancement requests, break fixes, etc. You must have hands-on Workday Security configuration experience including domains, BP security policies, creating security groups and authentication policies and familiarity with Workday Business Process design and Advanced Workday report writing skills.

Role Responsibilities

Data Security: 70% (primary responsibility)

  • Owns overall security architecture and governance across Workday platform including HCM, Talent and Performance, Compensation, Absence, Payroll and Time Tracking.
  • Provides functional guidance and knowledge to implement/maintain security configurations
  • Acts as the Workday HCM Security SME on any projects, activities, enhancement requests, break fixes, etc. that require the role's expertise to provide inputs and/or identify any necessary changes to the security design.
  • Development, configuration, and maintenance of security policies for Data Domains, Business
  • Processes, Dashboards and Reports and configuration and maintenance of various security groups: role-based, segmented, intersection and custom security group
  • Key player in developing and driving process improvement and automation initiatives
  • Project management / technical lead for implementation, enhancement, & optimization projects as needed.

Data Privacy: 30% (partners with other team members and functional partners to achieve these responsibilities, may lead small, medium, or large initiatives in this area)

  • Serves as a subject matter expert under the guidance of the Legal and Data Privacy teams to inform and advise on data protection and data privacy practices.
  • Ensures systematic compliance audits are performed and findings are acted upon.
  • Ensures risk management principles are fully integrated in data management processes.
  • Partners with SMEs to ensure an accurate and up-to-date global, regional, and local data assets inventory.
  • Partners with SMEs (IT, Legal, Data Privacy) to support operational process and the governance framework and serves as technical lead in the deployment of supporting security framework
  • Identifies and documents the link between data and related business functions that enables system workflows, integrations between systems, automations, etc., with input from data creators, owners and consumers.
  • Validates the configuration and rules for data in all HR master data systems.
  • Manages small to large-sized projects to deploy processes that support or improve the people data lifecycle.

Role Requirements

  • 5+ years’ overall experience
  • 2+ years’ of data security and access management; 2+ years’ of data privacy / compliance / data protection experience
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Must be able to effectively communicate complex technical content to non-technical partners
  • Workday security experience

Salary
The on-target earnings range is $85,600-125,000 per year, which includes a base salary and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
