We’re looking for a Financial Controller to join our team in Kings Hill, Kent on a for 12 month contract basis to support a key internal project.

As Financial Controller you will be responsible for overseeing the Finance Department's operations and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all accounting records.

Responsibilities include: 

Financial Management and Analysis 

• Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts 

• Oversee financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting 

• Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk 

• Conduct variance analysis and financial performance reviews 

Accounting and Compliance 

• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting 

• Manage statutory accounts preparation and audits 

• Maintain and reconcile accounting records 

• Manage tax compliance and insurance policies 

Team Leadership and Development 

• Lead and develop the finance team 

• Recruit, train, and motivate finance staff 

Strategic Planning 

• Develop and implement financial strategies 

• Prepare feasibility studies and business cases 

Experience we look for: 

Essential 

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)

• Proven track record in the fresh produce sector 

• Strong financial accounting knowledge, including IFRS 

• Proven ability to manage complex financial data and reporting 
• Willingness to travel to our Lincolnshire packhouse location when required 

Desirable 

• Experience with Prophet system is advantageous

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment 

• Strong interpersonal and adaptability skills 
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
