Performance Test Lead

WINGS ICT Solutions is looking for an experienced and driven Performance Test Lead to lead online performance testing for complex backend systems exposing RESTful APIs. The successful candidate will lead a team of 4 performance engineers, collaborate closely with development and system engineering teams, and take ownership of execution, analysis, and reporting of related performance testing activities.

The main responsibilities will involve:

• Lead the online performance testing stream, guiding a team of 4 testers in developing and executing comprehensive test plans using Apache JMeter.
• Design realistic and scalable performance test scenarios for RESTful API-driven systems.
• Analyze test results to identify system bottlenecks, and work closely with developers, architects, and system engineers to investigate root causes and validate performance improvements.
• Provide leadership in test data strategy, environment readiness, and automation of test execution/reporting processes.
• Coordinate daily activities, ensure timely delivery of test cycles, and communicate progress and issues to project stakeholders.
• Prepare professional documentation and presentations of execution outcomes.

Educational requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired experience and skills:

• At least 3 years of experience in performance and load testing of enterprise-grade applications, with at least 2 years of hands-on JMeter experience.
• Proven experience in testing and profiling complex backend systems with REST APIs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor test teams and coordinate across cross-functional groups.
• Deep understanding of performance metrics (latency, throughput, error rates, resource utilization).
• Familiarity with performance monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB, or APMs).
• Strong scripting and test automation skills.
• Comfortable working in Linux environments and with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.

Desired but not mandatory:

• Experience in banking, financial services, or other transaction-heavy domains.
• Knowledge of backend technologies such as Redis, Oracle DB, Kafka, OpenShift, or Spring Boot applications.
• Hands-on experience designing and managing test data in large-scale systems.
