About Wintermute Ventures 

Wintermute Ventures is the investment arm of the Wintermute, through its investment arm, Wintermute Ventures, aims to contribute to the advancement of the decentralized world. As a value-adding investor, Wintermute Ventures fosters innovation in early-stage Web3 projects by developing strategic relationships and contributing to positive outcomes through its deep expertise in DeFi and Cefi. Since 2020, it has invested in more than 100 projects.

About the role

This is internship is specifically targeted at students who have graduated within the last year (Bachelors, Masters, MBA or post-graduate) in Tech, Business, Sciences, Finance, Economics or a related field. Additionally, the candidate should have significant personal experience in crypto. The internship start date and duration can be flexibly structured around your availability between October to January 2024, however we require a full-time commitment anywhere between 2-4 months from you. 

You will get exposure to portfolio management, see live deal flow, contribute to protocol analysis, conduct independent project research and interact with multiple stakeholders across our network.

• Ad hoc projects - take ownership of ad hoc projects that help the desk optimise their work flow. This could be related to portfolio management, investment sourcing, deal flow analytics or marketing/branding initiatives.
• Research - Conduct deep-dive comprehensive research on various chains and DeFi protocols.
• Admin - Take ownership of logging trades to account for portfolio activity. This extends to labelling on-chain activity (trades, staking rewards, airdrops, etc.) for accounting purposes and liaising with internal / external parties including trading desks, middle office, finance functions and administrative support.
• Portfolio management - proactively identify new investment opportunities and recommendations (buying, staking, LP’ing)

• A business fluent level of English.
• Advanced command of Excel/Google Sheets.
• A proven track record of personal on-chain activity, especially in the DeFi space.
• Strong written and analytical skills for deal analysis and internal reporting.
• Familiarity with analysing on-chain transactions using block explorers across multiple chains.
• The ability to think analytically and strategically about investment decisions and ongoing work with existing portfolio companies.
• The ability to work well within a team and be self-guided on a day-to-day basis.

• A technical background or experience in data science is a plus.
• Strong network in crypto is a plus.
• An understanding of venture capital and crypto deal terms.
