The Amazon Security Special Programs Evaluations Assessments & Response (SPEAR) Team is seeking a driven, innovative, results-oriented technical program manager (TPM) for the Wireless Security (WiSec) Preliminary Evaluations (PE) team. The WiSec PE team is responsible for assessing Amazon’s wireless security posture on a global scale and utilizing hardware and automation to expand WiSec’s scope of influence. The team works closely with other teams to adopt innovative technologies and incorporate them into platforms that audit all aspects of Amazon’s wireless ecosystem. The objective of this program is to enable wireless security at scale.
The WiSec PE team is looking for a Wireless Security TPM to check that Amazon’s wireless infrastructure operates at the highest standards to maintain customer trust. The WiSec PE TPM will be responsible for tracking WiSec’s findings, locating the appropriate owner(s), working collaboratively to chart out remediation plans, monitoring progress and validating the fixes. If you are a self-starter with effective communication skills and enjoy challenging opportunities to lead large scale, complex projects and deliver results independently, this position will provide you with an outstanding opportunity to showcase your skills. A successful candidate will have a good mix of wireless security knowledge, data analytics and a demonstrated track record of leading complex cross-functional projects with considerable impact. This role is remote US, but requires up to 50% travel both within and outside of the United States.
Key job responsibilities
As a TPM on the team, you will manage findings by scoping the problem, locating owners, working with Security Engineers to develop remediation plans, collaborating with internal and external teams to remediate findings globally and validating fixes. You will apply effective communication skills to articulate project status using visual analytics tools like Tableau and Asana, and you will automate analytics with Python or a similar scripting language. You will author and edit key documents to communicate issues, escalate findings and secure resources. You will operate independently and drive detailed business and technical discussions clearly and concisely up to the VP level. You will work with teams across Amazon to strategically improve wireless security, answer external inquiries and implement security best practices. You will support large-scale security projects and escalate effectively when needed. You will develop and mentor other TPMs within SPEAR.
