Our UI Platform is used by thousands of developers across Workday to deliver applications with a cohesive and integrated user experience. This technology platform has been key to Workday's ability to scale over the last 15 years -- you will help develop the evolution of the platform to ensure it serves us well for the next 15. About the Role As a Principal Software Engineer within Workday's UI Platform Team, you will: Collaborate with peers on technical design, work estimation, and implementation of UI tooling including interfaces/contracts with other layers of the platform Be an ambassador for UI Platform, representing our organization to outside teams and gathering feedback from them Contribute ideas for continually improving the team's productivity, job enjoyment, and code quality Mentor junior developers and assist in their professional growth Continually learn and grow yourself beyond your area of expertise! About You Basic Qualifications: 7 years of relevant experience, with a proven track record of developing commercial web applications, with specific experience in JavaScript Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership on complex projects and mentor and guide team members. Other Qualifications: Like us, you are passionate about software development and have a lot of fun solving interesting problems. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across the organization. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields, or equivalent experience. Experience in Java would be a huge benefit Ability to quickly understand and debug unfamiliar codebases that are using different technologies and languages Passionate about code reviews and encouraging peers to elevate their code quality Successfully delivered software projects on time, with all agreed-upon requirements Proven track record mentoring and developing technical talent Natural inclination to build tools that make you and your peers more productive As a federal contractor, Workday is requiring all new hires to verify that they are fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 within 72 hours of beginning employment with Workday, consistent with applicable law. Salary Range: $100K -- $150K Minimum Qualification Software DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications
