The Global Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and executing payroll processes across multiple countries, ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time while complying with local tax laws and labour regulations. This position requires in-depth knowledge of international payroll systems and the ability to navigate the complexities of multi-country payroll, including handling different currencies, taxation systems, and benefits programs. The specialist ensures payroll accuracy by maintaining up-to-date data, processing payments, and managing deductions for tax, social security, and other withholdings in line with each country’s requirements.
What you’ll do…
- Manage the delivery of tier 1 and tier 2 payrolls in line with departmental KPIs and SLAs.
- Execute departmental-level projects and contribute to key results (KRs).
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on payroll processes.
- Monitor and maintain payroll-related tools, including cost calculators and gross-to-net calculators.
- Provide expertise and support on customer calls for allocated payrolls.
- Complete all assigned tasks accurately and on time, including payroll accounting, payslip production, and payments.
- Act as a resource for payroll administrators, offering guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Drive knowledge creation by identifying gaps using Salesforce and developing knowledge articles.
- Document and maintain departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process guides.
- Proactively communicate variances and changes to customers and stakeholders.
- Manage legislative changes impacting tier 1 and tier 2 payrolls, ensuring all effects are understood and communicated.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for all payroll-related processes.

- Process Improvement: Proactive in identifying inefficiencies and recommending payroll process enhancements.
- Time Management: Strong organisational skills to manage multiple payroll cycles and meet deadlines.
- Vendor Coordination: Experience working with external payroll vendors to ensure compliance and seamless operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work with HR, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure payroll alignment with company policies.
- Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication to address employee queries and collaborate with global teams.
- Confidentiality: Professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive payroll data.
- Cultural Awareness: Understanding of diverse cultural practices for effective payroll management across various countries.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust to changing regulations or organisational needs.
