The PRO is a three-month assignment to explore partnership opportunities in the Rock Hill area and engage with primary stakeholders at local churches, businesses, department of social services, nonprofits, in preparation for long-term engagement by World Relief Upstate SC in the area.  The PRO will also engage with local immigrant populations to explore partnerships and community needs.  This role is responsible for expanding WR Upstate SC’s footprint in the Rock Hill area, working in close collaboration with the Upstate SC Community Engagement team.  Note: this is a temporary assignment.  Long-term engagement by WR Upstate SC in the Rock Hill area will depend on the viability of Rock Hill for refugee and immigrant services and availability of funding.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the Office Director, the PRO will: 
  • Coordinate with Mobilization Program Director to develop an overall outreach strategy with concrete goals and take the lead on executing this strategy in the community through networking and sharing World Relief’s mission and vision in a compelling and contextual way.
  • Take lead on conducting stakeholder interviews within the local church, business, DSS, and nonprofit community to determine capacity for future partnerships.
  • Take lead on conducting stakeholder interviews among immigrant churches and others to determine the primary needs of the refugee and immigrant community.
  • Participate in World Relief Home Office church mobilization meetings, trainings, and events as relevant to this role.
  • Maintain records of church and community engagement activity and keep track of metrics related to church partnerships through Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Coordinate with Community Engagement Team in getting feedback and support from local stakeholders, including educators, local governance, public safety, and health care.
  • Provide feedback and reports to the Office Director on all findings based on community engagement in Rock Hill area.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Familiar with refugee resettlement ideas and terminology preferred ·History of involvement with volunteerism or non-profit work experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred ·Experience networking with church and community leaders preferred
  • 2 years of fundraising and/or partnership development experience or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to share WR’s vision, mission, and values with cogency in theologically astute ways across Christian denominations and secular or interfaith contexts
  • Strong administration & organizational skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM preferred
  • Strong writing and public speaking skills 
  • Ability to work on a team and independently ·Willingness to work on nights and weekends as needed for events- up to 1 evening per week and 1 weekend-day per month

  • Valid driver's license, and access to vehicle required
  • Up to 25% domestic travel only required


$22 - $24 an hour

·         While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations

·         The ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-15 pounds.

·         Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information.

·         The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

 

·         General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions.

·         Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.

·         Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.

·         Physical, emotional and intellectual demands

·         Equipment used: Employee computer (desktop or laptop), printer, and copier.
