World Relief seeks a R&P Post-Arrival Supervisor. The R&P Post-Arrival Supervisor provides support, strategy, and vision for the resettlement team. This position oversees the initial reception and placement of refugees and asylees during their first ninety days in the United States.


Role & Responsibilities

  • This role is responsible for supervising others and includes responsibilities consistent with supervising employees including but not limited to monitoring daily work activities, tracking and approving timesheets including approving time off, monitoring performance including entering goals, progress check-ins, and weekly or bi-weekly check-ins, documenting performance concerns, entering staff promotions, transitions, and separations in HRIS within required time frame. Managers at World Relief are also considered spiritual leaders and are expected to lead staff in a manner consistent with our Christian values including but not limited to praying with staff, leading devotionals, and fostering a Christian environment in interactions with staff throughout World Relief.
  • Oversee and manage the Reception & Placement Program activities in coordination with the Resettlement Director for compliance with cooperative agreement and progress towards goals.
  • Supervise Resettlement Caseworkers by assigning caseloads and provide ongoing training and program leadership
  • Make decisions about how to implement, structure, and improve delivery of services in order to maximize the ability of the resettlement team’s ability.
  • Support casework staff in serving newly arriving refugee families through availability for questions, community orientation, resource management, and developing relationships in the community to secure housing and other basic needs.
  • Responsible for reporting on and monitoring resettlement metrics
  • Meet with participants regularly to hear their concerns and questions
  • Help cover for Caseworkers during busy periods and vacations, including regular airport arrival help, especially during staffing gaps.
  • Recruit, hire, and train new Casework staff
  • Recruit, coordinate and supervise on-call interpreters.
  • Help ensure case files have all necessary documentation and that case notes describe essential areas of resettlement, and progress towards self-sufficiency.
  • Monitor and authorize all flexible spending to and on behalf of clients.
  • Monitor R&P financial reports throughout fiscal year
  • Assist Resettlement Director with monitoring program spending, training casework staff, and other related tasks as needed.
  • Coordinate and convene weekly Resettlement Team Meetings
  • Schedule and lead regular staff trainings as necessary
  • Build relationships with other community partners through regular attendance at various meetings, as necessary
  • Assist and conduct case file reviews
  • Review 90-day reports to ensure completion for submission.
  • Other tasks as need and opportunity arise


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Either Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or refugee/immigrant knowledge/experience required
  • A desire to serve refugees in support of the mission of World Relief
  • Two years of experience working in a multi-cultural, social service setting required
  • Good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects at one time
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of refugee language desired Intermediate computer knowledge, including MS Office and the ability to learn new programs.
  • Management experience preferred
  • Flexibility in schedule and a desire to learn a must. Ability to perceive needs and initiate solutions to ensure effective resettlement programs
  • Confidence in public speaking, including vocalizing opinions and sharing feedback in group settings, and providing constructive feedback to staff
  • Ability to perform basic accounting functions in order to produce budgets and track spending

$25 - $25 an hour

·         While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations

·         The ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-15 pounds.

·         Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information.

·         The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

 

·         General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions.

·         Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.

·         Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.

·         Physical, emotional and intellectual demands
