World Relief seeks a Social Adjustment Service Program Supervisor to provide critical services and counsel to refugees and other eligible persons as they search for initial employment or seek career advancement and job upgrade opportunities. The Social Adjustment Services (SAS) Program Supervisor oversees the SAS program, which supports refugees and asylees in their transition to life in the U.S., helping them achieve independence through comprehensive case management. The supervisor is responsible for overseeing staff, managing client services, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with external partners. This position assists refugees and other eligible persons to become economically self-sufficient by preparing them for employment, utilizing employer contacts to place them in jobs, counseling on job upgrades and career pathway opportunities, and maintaining and expanding an employer network. This role also emphasizes leading in alignment with World Relief’s Christian values and fostering a supportive environment. This role is based out of the Austin office.


Role & Responsibilities

This role is responsible for supervising others and includes responsibilities consistent with supervising employees including but not limited to monitoring daily work activities, tracking and approving timesheets including approving time off, monitoring performance including entering goals, progress check-ins, and weekly or bi-weekly check-ins, documenting performance concerns, entering staff promotions, transitions, and separations in HRIS within required time frame. Managers at World Relief are also considered spiritual leaders and are expected to lead staff in a manner consistent with our Christian values including but not limited to praying with staff, leading devotionals, and fostering a Christian environment in interactions with staff throughout World Relief.

Client Services:
  • Service Plan Development: Supervise the creation of individual client service plans, setting specific goals aimed at achieving client independence within the program period. Oversee home visits and ongoing needs assessments to ensure service plan goals are met. Conducts home visits at clients houses.
  • Life Skills Orientation: Lead and supervise staff in providing orientations on various topics such as financial literacy, parenting, mental health, navigating the healthcare system, and digital literacy, while assessing clients’ life skills.
  • Healthcare Navigation: Oversee client assistance with navigating health insurance requirements, accessing medical specialists, and educating clients on how to manage medical bills using insurance.
  • Transportation Coordination: Ensure clients receive support for medical and medical-related appointments, supervising staff in providing transportation assistance while promoting client independence in scheduling and attending future appointments.
  • Referrals: Supervise the process of making appropriate referrals to community agencies for services that are not provided by World Relief, ensuring that client needs are comprehensively met.
Staff Supervision:
  • Supervise SAS Program Staff: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate SAS program staff, interns, and volunteers, ensuring the provision of high-quality services to clients.
  • Coaching and Support: Provide ongoing coaching, support, and professional development for staff to foster their growth and ensure effective service delivery.
  • Performance Management: Set performance expectations, conduct regular check-ins (weekly or bi-weekly), and monitor staff progress. Address performance concerns, document necessary actions, and manage transitions, promotions, and separations in HRIS within the required timeframes.
  • Spiritual Leadership: Demonstrate Christian values by leading staff in prayer, devotionals, and fostering a supportive Christian environment in the workplace.
Planning, Reporting, and Coordination:
  • Agency Coordination: Supervise coordination with outside agencies and organizations to meet client needs, advocating and mediating on behalf of clients where necessary.
  • Medical Care Coordination: Oversee communication and collaboration with primary care providers, specialist medical providers, and medical insurance providers to ensure clients receive timely and appropriate care.
  • Case Planning Meetings: Participate in and lead weekly case planning meetings with direct service staff and program management to review client progress, address challenges, and adjust service plans as needed.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of client services and program outcomes. Prepare and submit required reports to funders, stakeholders, and leadership.
Program Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  • Compliance with Regulations: Ensure the SAS program complies with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations as well as internal organizational policies.
  • Auditing and Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits of client files, service plans, and program processes to ensure compliance and high-quality service delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor program outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement in service delivery, staff training, and client care.
Community Engagement and Partnerships:
  • Partnership Development: Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and social service agencies to enhance the availability of resources for clients.
  • Advocacy and Representation: Represent World Relief Austin at community events, forums, and meetings, advocating for the needs and rights of refugees and asylees and promoting the SAS program.
  • Collaboration: Work with community partners and service providers to offer additional support and services that address the holistic needs of clients. Attend work meeting with stakeholders and non for profit orgs.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Fluency in an additional language such as Spanish, French, Arabic, Swahili, Lingala, Farsi, Dari, and Pashto is preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record

$26 - $28 an hour
