Job Description
As a Technical Writer, you will work with the Quality Director and other stakeholders to establish and document quality standards as well as other processes, procedures, work instructions, and training manuals. Materials may be created for compliance efforts as well as standardization and training.
Role Responsibilities
· Plan, develop, organize, write, and edit all technical documentation, operational procedures, manuals, and others, in collaboration with various stakeholders, including Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Safety, Project Management, Flight Operations, and Business Development
· Perform technical writing and editing of process documents for the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring adherence to documented templates and policies, as well as contractual requirements
· Produce electronic and hard copy documentation as needed
· Manage deliverables amongst cross functional teams to meet project milestones
· Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and facilitate communication among project stakeholders
· Develop and utilize product, technical, and process understanding to deliver quality documentation
· Take initiatives to identify, communicate, and execute high-impact improvements
· Track projects and manage update documentation so it remains current
· Maintain information and content architecture
· Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
· Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
· Acquire or verify knowledge of subject by interviewing workers engaged in developing new products and services or in making improvements, observing performance of experiments and methods of production, referring to blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings and notes, trade and engineering journals, rewrites of articles, bulletins, manuals, or similar publications
Document and track releases and updates to business processes, procedures, forms, and various technical documentation
Verify accuracy of content and incorporates all changes
Work independently under regular guidance on non-routine tasks requiring judgement and initiative
Edit technical documentation originated by Engineering
Qualifications
· Experience and training in an engineering discipline
· At least seven (7) years technical writing experience
· Experience working with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001, AS9110 and/or CFR Part 145, and CFR parts 21 / 121 / 135
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to grasp complex technical concepts and communicate them clearly and briefly
· Demonstrated proficiency working with technical documents and regulatory specifications
· Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines
· Expert skills with MS Office (including MS Visio), Adobe Acrobat, and Photoshop or similar
· Excellent organization and coordination skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
· Previous experience in manufacturing and/or engineering
· Strong document and revision control experience
· Material/Part inspection experience
· Excellence in professional/technical writing, editing, and researching, specifically process documents or equivalent
