Senior Software Engineer, Test Deployment Platform

TEAM

Arene's mission is to simplify vehicle software development and increase developer Agility by creating tools and processes which enable novel uses of vehicles without compromising safety. Arene is the new exciting vehicle development platform we are building to simplify vehicle software development and increase developer Agility to enable novel uses of vehicles.

The Test Deployment Platform team builds vehicle computer hardware emulation environments (virtual vehicle) which realize the "shift-left" of software development and providing technical support to software engineers in liaison with hardware and software suppliers. You will report to the manager of the Test Deployment Platform, and this role's workplace type is hybrid - you will work in the office at least 3 days per week.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

As a senior software engineer, you will create a test infrastructure of virtual vehicle E/E architecture running on a scalable hybrid cloud/on-prem environment, and you will be a senior engineer in the test infrastructure team providing engineering solutions and mentoring of peers and juniors.

• Provide technical solutions for the Test Rigs team in collaboration with engineers, Technical Program Manager, and Engineering Managers to align technical and product activities and delivery milestones
• Assist the Team Lead to build a team of cloud infrastructure, software and hardware test bench developers
• Be a mentor figure, engaging and growing people and provide technical leadership and technical guidance to the team
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the team
• Design and implement test infrastructure that connects real hardware to resources in the cloud with team members
• Review artifacts created by team members

• Business level English
• Capable to quickly understand and break down complex technical situations that usually involve people, processes and product
• 10 years of experience producing maintainable services (preferably Go or Python)
• Experience building and maintaining cloud infrastructure with IaC tools such as Terraform
• Experience integrating with scheduling/orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or Nomad
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Good knowledge of project and product management practices
• Up to date on modern software development practices and tools

• Full life-cycle product development: from product-market fit, to production deployment
• Bilingual English and Japanese
• Knowledge of quality management systems
• Experience in delivering automotive software
• Security-conscious software design and implementation
• Familiarity with the ISO 26262, SOTIF, or other standards for functional safety
