Director of Product Design

We’re looking for a Director of Product Design to lead and elevate our design for Polaris, our marketing AI platform that maximizes impact across audience, creative, media, and measurement. As the Director of Product Design, you’ll report to the Chief Product Officer and oversee a growing team of talented product designers, while also contributing hands-on to design projects. You will be a strategic leader who shapes the design vision, mentors your team, and collaborates closely with product, engineering, and data science to deliver world-class user experiences that drive measurable business impact.

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $146,000 - $200,000, based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and the respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. At Wpromote, pay ranges are subject to change and are based on specific market medians for similar jobs according to third-party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary due to skills, experience, and available budget.  The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above).


*This position may be performed remotely in most states within the US, with some exclusions

**While this role offers the flexibility to work remotely, we have office hubs in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where you can join in on learning and development opportunities, fun events, take advantage of a space to work, and collaborate in person!

You Will Be
  • Defining the design vision and strategy for Polaris to ensure a top-tier UX aligned with business goals
  • Managing and mentoring two product designers, fostering growth, and delivering feedback
  • Collaborating with product and engineering teams to align priorities and drive development
  • Overseeing the design lifecycle, from research to final implementation
  • Leading design reviews and promoting a culture of continuous improvement
  • Advocating for user-centered design and positioning it as a strategic advantage
  • Conducting and guiding user research to validate and improve design solutions
  • Refining design systems for consistency and scalability
  • Staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologiesUsing data to drive design decisions and measure their impact


You Must Have
  • 6+ years of product design experience, including 1+ years in a leadership role, ideally in adtech SaaS or AI-driven products
  • Expertise in design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Suite) and user research methods
  • Portfolio demonstrating impactful design work and leadership on complex projects
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring design teams
  • Strong skills in user-centered design, interaction, visual design, and design systems
  • Collaborative experience with product, engineering, and data science teams
  • Strategic problem solver, simplifying complex AI-driven features for diverse users
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to influence and present design decisions


Nice to Have
  • Experience in adtech/martech or AI SaaS environments
  • Skilled in designing AI-driven platforms and presenting complex data insights
  • Familiarity with marketing or analytics products and performance-driven design
  • Understanding of front-end technologies for effective collaboration with engineering
  • Proven ability to scale design teams and processes in agile, fast-paced settings
