Introduction to XYZ
A groundbreaking & award-winning Construction Technology company; XYZ Reality are the creators of the world’s first and only engineering-grade Augmented Reality solution, purpose-built for the construction industry. Not only have we created this technology, that sits within The Atom – a smart, site-safe headset - but we also act as a consultancy on the Data Centre and Mission Critical projects that the AR solution is being implemented on to ensure that all schemes are completed according to the delivery timescales set out, and are able to fall within budget.
XYZ has grown to over 100 staff across the UK, Europe and the US and is working with prestigious, market-leading Data Centre and Mission Critical organisations to successfully deliver major projects globally.
Field Application Engineer Opportunity
Our aim is to revolutionise the construction industry, for the better, forever... And although we've achieved some incredible successes so far, we're only just getting started!
As we expand our project workload into the USA, we are now looking for an FAE (Construction AR Surveyor) to join us in North Dakota (exact location will be disclosed after application)
As an Engineer/Surveyor at XYZ, you'll be utilising Augmented Reality alongside your existing knowledge of construction/surveying/engineering to eradicate construction and design errors, which would otherwise lead to costly and time-consuming rework. You’ll be our clients first point of contact onsite and will help to coordinate the project by providing regular updates of potential clashes/problems with the design model and what has been, or is to be, installed.
Conduct daily site inspections using the Atom (Augmented Reality headset) to ensure works are installed correctly, as per the BIM Model.
Using a robotic total station, establish and maintain our primary control network on site for the longevity of the project.
Produce reports and subsequent deliverables based on the inspections from that day.
Attend meetings to coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to plan daily activities.
Process and review all acquired data to ensure it is accurate and reliable.
Work alongside other FAE's to maintain an efficient workflow, ensuring all requested inspections are conducted within the specified time frame.
Work with the Client, Main Contractor and Sub Contractors to devise a weekly lookahead of inspections in line with the master construction programme in order to de-risk incorrect installation from taking place in the field.
Obtain and prepare the latest approved Revit models from contractors to export into HoloSite in line with the master construction programme.
Report to the Senior Engineer to ensure that all deliverables meet the highest standard before submission.
Take an active role in supporting the training of new users
Field Engineering / Surveying Experience Required - i.e construction layout, topographic, land surveying, geodetic, geometric or geospatial works.
The ability to operate a Robotic Total Station to establish / traverse a control network is preferred.
Happy to work alone or as part of a 2 or 3 person crew
Knowledge and working experience of 3D / BIM / BIM360 / Revit / Navisworks would be beneficial but can be taught if not
Confident in using Microsoft Office - Word & Excel
Full driving license and vehicle due to location of projects
US Citizen / holds the right to live and work in the USA without VISA sponsorship (i.e has a green card)
Clean criminal record essential (background checks occur every 6 months)
25 days (5 weeks) PTO + public holidays
Healthcare options with contributions - medical, optical & dental
Push boundaries and deliver cutting-edge technology that is going to change the construction industry forever
See the States / world - travel and relocation opportunities in future
