The Role:
At Zip the legal team aims to accelerate growth while protecting the company from liability. We partner with every team at Zip, across all of our offices, to support new product and market expansion, customer acquisition and support, and efficient operations.
This position reports to our Chief Legal Officer and is an incredible opportunity for the right candidate looking for career growth and the chance to be part of a special company. A primary focus of this role will be commercial contracts, and especially ways to innovate, streamline, and automate the contracting process, and empower our colleagues on the sales team to move faster and with the right tools and support. However there will be plenty of opportunities to take on projects with other teams across Zip. Who we’re looking for:
Team player who embraces responsibility, thrives in an intense, fast-paced environment and is willing to make decisions
Ability to simplify complex legal ideas and frameworks and build consensus around proposed solutions
Exceptional judgment and integrity, ability to handle multiple complex contract matters independently on tight timeframes, adept at making smart decisions in the face of ambiguity and imperfect information
At least six years of relevant experience handling commercial contracts, including in-house experience at a startup
Excellent negotiation, analytical and drafting skills in a wide variety of deal settings
Drives improvements, scalability and operational excellence in contract negotiation processes and execution
Bonus points if you have data privacy, marketing, or employment experience
The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $200,000. The salary for this position is determined based on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant experience, education, or particular skills and expertise.
