What you’ll do

Team Leadership

Hire and grow this org from the ground up, fostering strong leaders and mentoring junior talent
On day one, you’ll be leading a small and scrappy team of software engineers
You’ll have flexibility and resources to build a world-class infra team

Technical Leadership

Hold the bar for high technical excellence in your org
Build infrastructure that levels up other teams’ reliability and scalability
Continue growing a culture of engineering excellence

Platform Leadership

Define a clear vision and roadmap for our infrastructure
Evangelize the platform to the rest of the software team

What you’ll bring

Experience building software engineering teams
Experience shaping an organization to move faster as it scales
Experience building complex distributed infrastructure that supports production loads
Expertise in modern web technologies and design patterns
A strong “generalist engineering” mindset, ready to dive in and contribute across many problems across Zipline
Excitement to be a technical leader and mentor to the organization

Nice to haves

Experience leading multiple teams at once
Experience working with AWS
Experience working with event driven architectures (e.g. Kafka)
Experience supporting and developing micro service meshes
Experience working with and designing system that process PHI or protected information
Experience developing safety-critical application

What else you need to know

The starting cash range for this role is $170,000 - 210,000. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. The total compensation package for this role may also include: equity compensation; discretionary annual or performance bonuses; sales incentives; benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; and more.
