The Director of Supply Chain Procedural Services coordinates, plans, directs, implements, and manages the supply chain related administrative, financial, and operational responsibilities for Perioperative Services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• Master’s degree in health or business is . Bachelor’s in nursing and/or business is required.
Experience:
• Previous OR Business Manager and/or hospital supply chain experience required.
• 5-7 years in health care, involving benchmarking of data.
• Demonstrated progressive management experience, minimum 3-5 years.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
• Knowledge of Workday and Epic is , or knowledge of a similar material management system is required.
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization and with external customers and agencies.
• Creates a collegial and collaborative environment among all members of the healthcare team.
• Articulates clear expectations with staff and members of the patient care team.
• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for decisions.

Strategic and Operational Planning:

• Assists in the development of evidence-based departmental and program goals and works collaboratively with the physician leaders and providers.

• Participates in identification of indicators to measure accomplishments of strategic plan and leads the reporting of progress towards goals.
• Supports administrative direction and participates in the coordination, formulation, interpretation, and administration of long-range policies, procedures, and programs.
• Supports and communicates the organizational plan to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
Operational Management:
1. Responsible for the day-to-day supply chain operations of the Supply Chain Surgical Services Department.
• Leads his/her own team, manages, and maintains staff assignments, hires and performs employee review, trains, and coaches’ staff as needed, develops and reports department productivity KPIs.
• Provides information to OR Leadership to help with the accuracy of the preference cards.
• Assist hospital administrators and Perioperative leadership with requested reports and identify and manage cost savings opportunities.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and Revenue Cycle to ensure supplies and implants are loaded appropriately in EMR and ERP systems.
• Coordinate and interface with Supply Chain Sourcing and Contracting for cost savings opportunities.
• In conjunction with clinical perioperative leadership, identify standardization and utilization opportunities.
• Define business requirements for supplies, implants, and capital to allow contracting to solicit bids appropriately.
• Right-size the inventory within perioperative services to ensure the applicable inventory is available for physician and clinical use.
• Drive the value analysis process to support the contracting and inventory management process.
• Ensure vendors are abiding by all Albany Med Hospital policies.
