About the role
Manage campus recruitment for junior financial staff at nine MBA and sixteen undergraduate programs on the East Coast and Midwest, resulting in the hiring of 100+ bankers per year
Annually, this process includes organizing 50+ on-campus recruiting events that I attend and oversee in person for presentations, workshops and networking events; screening 1200+ applications using Handshake, 12Twenty, GradLeaders and Symplicity; managing interview schedules of 200+ candidates; working closely with schools’ career services teams and student organizations to maintain position as a top employer at target colleges and universities; and coordinating office visits for 15+ schools
Past and current schools covered include New York University, Columbia, Yale, Dartmouth, Boston College, the University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown, the University of Virginia, Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia, Emory, Indiana University, Notre Dame, the University of Michigan, Northwestern, the University of Illinois, the University of Wisconsin, and the University of Minnesota
Design, oversee, and implement on-campus and in-office DEI recruiting initiatives (with recent classes averaging 25% representation)
1500+ Financial Analysts and Associates and 1200+ summer interns (both Financial Analysts and Associates) have been hired to date at Houlihan Lokey through my work, with 10,000+ candidates screened
Many junior bankers personally sourced and recruited are now senior bankers at the firm, including several Managing Directors
HL offices regularly covered include New York, Boston, Washington DC, Atlanta, Chicago, and Minneapolis, with additional coverage provided as for Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco
Oversee the firm’s mentorship program for junior financial staff by assigning peer mentors as well as organizing networking events and team-building sessions
Execute the experienced-hire recruiting process for the firm’s top-ranked Financial Restructuring Group and the Financial Sponsors Coverage Group; also assist with hiring for the Corporate Finance (M&A) business during months-long periods when that team’s recruiting position has been open
Annually, this process includes fine-tuning job descriptions; working with the hiring bankers on hiring strategy; posting opportunities for alumni at specific schools; sourcing and reviewing resumes and screening candidates; and setting up interviews
150+ bankers have been hired laterally, most without the assistance of outside recruiters, with 600+ interviewed and 8000+ candidates screened
Leadership of a team of campus recruiters and oversee campus strategy, collectively covering fifteen MBA and twenty-six undergraduate programs in the U.S.
Developed and coordinated the firm’s annual full-time and summer intern training programs for all Financial Analysts and Associates globally for 10 years; this included hotel/vendor contract negotiation, travel logistics, collection of training materials, scheduling of outside trainers such as Bloomberg, and on-site assistance of those attending the program
Plan and execute networking events for the corporate and administrative staff in the New York office
