Tiny Trips, a PlacePass Company
Tiny Trips, a PlacePass Company
Remote · 4 years, 11 months
Content & Community Manager May 2020 — Current time
About the role PlacePass is a Series A–funded startup that helps travelers find, compare and book great things to do in any destination. In 2020, the company began working on a brand dedicated to local travel, launching Tiny Trips in 2021. I joined Tiny Trips pre-launch and was the sixth employee dedicated to the brand, overseeing all things content, community, and social media. In this role, I've crafted a comprehensive content marketing strategy, and I manage the complete editorial workflow, including all content assigning, editing and optimizing for SEO and affiliate. We've produced over 200 articles to help generate 143k average monthly visitors thus far. Alongside content, I own and operate all of the brand's social media accounts, from writing copy and designing creative to managing the community and using insights and data to inform strategy. We've grown to over 10k followers on Facebook and Instagram in a little over a year. Outside of the consistent content and social management, I regularly initiate, plan and execute one-off content and community growth projects and also write and edit copy for our weekly newsletter. I have worked with micro-influencers for an Instagram Story series, scouted out potential talent for a virtual event, partnered with a pre-launch travel recommendations app to become one of their founding content creators, helped establish brand positioning statements, assisted with user research interviews, contributed to product brainstorming and site design, and much more.
Jetsetter, a Tripadvisor Company

New York, NY · 1 year, 9 months
Style & Travel Editor October 2019 — May 2020
Editorial Assistant August 2018 — October 2019
About the role Jetsetter was a luxury travel and lifestyle site owned by Tripadvisor as part of its SmarterTravel content portfolio; it folded in May 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. I started at Jetsetter as an editorial assistant and was promoted to Style & Travel Editor a little over a year later. During my time at the company, I worked on editorial content, social media, newsletter copy and more. I wrote and edited hundreds of articles about destinations, hotels, travel tips, style, beauty and wellness and optimized them for SEO and social sharing. One of my largest responsibilities was managing Jetsetter's e-commerce content strategy from idea generation through execution: I created a monthly commerce plan, wrote several stories per week, performed SEO optimization and tracked data to perfect the approach, overseeing a 69% YOY growth in revenue. Outside of editorial content, I ran the Jetsetter Instagram account (which had over 100K followers), including daily feed posts, Stories and community management; I grew the Instagram following by 62% YOY. I also built and edited up to three weekly newsletters sent to over 5.5 million email subscribers, worked with the marketing team to implement brand partnerships and sponsored content, and represented the brand at industry events and on press trips around the world (definitely one of the most fun parts of the job!).
Repeller (formerly Man Repeller)

Contributing Writer May 2017 — February 2019
About the role Repeller (formerly Man Repeller) was a media brand and lifestyle website that published from 2010-2020. I began freelancing for the company in 2017 after pitching a story on activism — one where I would interview a 74-year-old political activist about what the fight was like back then and how it's changed today. After seeing success with the story, I was asked to continue the series, and I began regularly scouting out diverse older-age activists, interviewing them, and telling their stories. Alongside the activism series, I pitched and wrote other profiles, as-told-to stories, person-on-the-street interviews, essays, and more.
