Mother of 4, Army Soldier, and Integrated Media Communications student at ULM, Kiara, 33, blossoms through life with ambition and dedication. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Ca, she is passionate and goal-oriented in work that supports progression, empowerment, equity, and inclusion for black and marginalized communities. She leads and collaborates with others to create and support initiatives that support her passions. “I want whatever environment I’m in to be a safe space for others, just as ULM has been for me.” “My purpose is to create opportunities for others to thrive in their magic.” Kiara is grateful for her Grandparents, Roy and Mary Benson, Sterlington, La, who helped raise her. Kiara resides in Monroe, La, with her children, “God brought me back to Louisiana to grow from bayou soil.”
