About the role
The Third Place is a small VC-funded startup from Silicon Valley. My main task was to maintain
and develop the web platform used by businesses and end customers.
(a) Architecture and implementation of an Elasticsearch cluster and an indexing pipeline for our
database models. Most notably, this decreased the load time of one page from 10-50s to
under one second.
(b) Implementation and maintenance of DevOps tooling: integration tests, error reporting and
performance tracing. Drastically increased reaction time and visibility over user issues.
(c) Implementation of multiple, full-stack user-facing features: Python backend, GraphQL APIs
across 8 microservices and a React frontend.
