Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Structural Intern to be based in Columbus, Ohio.

This position is expected to begin in May 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Use computer software as a tool for solving complex engineering problems and modeling engineering systems.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architectural engineering and must have completed at least two years of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions.  Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and experience using CADD and industry-standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation).

  • Relocation assistance is not offered for this role.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
