Program Assistant

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is seeking a  Program Assistant to join the team in our Richmond, VA office. Position will be located in the central office of VDOT’s Maintenance Division.

 

Support services will be performed to include support of the Infrastructure Section to include Safety Rest Area Program, Environmental Stewardship, Policy, and Interstate Maintenance. These are essential services to support the goals and mission of the Section. Support for the infrastructure manager will be a main focus.  Services may include but are not limited to organizing information, creating briefs of information, note taking, technical writing, inspections, policy and program management, providing expertise and recommendations to CO/Field staff, training, and performance planning.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Candidate should have functional and technical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Outlook) at a high level of accomplishment.
  • Be self-motivated and have experience to work independently to complete multiple assignments within established timelines.
  • Experience in independent research, interpret, implement, and monitor policies and programs that aid in the delivery and continuous improvement of the maintenance program.
  • Experience in communicating effectively orally and in writing with internal and external customers.
  • Experience in working to complete multiple assignments to meet established timelines.
  • Experience in working in a team environment.
  • Experience in conducting analysis on complex issues and develop analytical reports for a wide range of audiences.
  • Skill in the use of computers and software applications.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in analyzing data and database management.
  • Experience in a public administered program
  • Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Transportation, or related field.
  • Equivalent training/education may substitute for degree.
