Anchorage Digital is seeking a data guru in Compliance who loves working with data to drive valuable insights. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to engage deeply with transaction and client data, uncovering patterns and building insights into compliance models to detect risky behaviors. You’ll play a vital part in developing models, tools, and analytics that support Anchorage’s commitment to regulatory compliance, particularly in alignment with BSA/AML standards.


You’ll also have the chance to collaborate with multiple Anchorage Affiliates, applying your data expertise to strengthen Anchorage’s global compliance function. Technical Skills:
  • Be the expert in Compliance-related data tables and models, understanding the nuances of the data, the underlying codes, and the limitations of the models. Capable of conducting reliable data analysis independently and accurately.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and automation of controls, processes, and dashboards to improve compliance monitoring and reporting.


Complexity and Impact of Work:
  • Support the enhancement and periodic tuning of BSA/AML models, including transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, customer risk rating, blockchain analytics, and other relevant BSA/AML tools.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and generate regular compliance reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.


Organizational Knowledge:
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to implement and improve tools and processes within the Compliance department.
  • Leverage understanding of Anchorage Digital business lines to prepare and adjust data analysis and models as needed.


Communication and Influence
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and generate regular compliance reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Assist with FCC issues related to systems and models, as needed.


You may be a fit for this role if you have:
  • Strong proficiency with SQL, Python or R, and advanced knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets functions.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to take ownership, work independently, and yet still be team-oriented.


Although not a requirement, bonus points if:
  • Prior experience in the financial service industry, crypto industry, or a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Understanding of BSA/AML and OFAC regulatory requirements and risk management practices.
