Position Summary
The In Room Dining Order Taker serve guests in a friendly, professional manner according to Forbes Five Star standards. This position reports to the Room Service Manager.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities
• Answer in room dining order calls, taking guest orders according with established Forbes Five Star standards
• Upsell food and beverage by suggesting items
• Handle guest’s requests
• Responsible for issuing keys properly and handling guest’s checks and cash
• Ensures effective working knowledge and operation of the Point-of-Sale system
• Assists service staff in setting up orders and organization of delivery items
• Communicate to back of house staff regarding requested orders
• Complete requisitions
• Complete proper cash envelopes, deposits and shift reports
• Make copies, files paperwork, and completes other projects as directed
• Make manager aware of any guest’s comments or complaints
• Ensure proper timing of orders, makes manager aware of any late orders
• Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1-year customer service experience/related experience required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Basic knowledge of wine, food and cooking methods
• Familiar with hotel and surrounding town
• Familiar with all current restaurant and in room dining menus
• Well versed in all wine by the glass offerings
• Complete tasks and projects delegated by your supervisor assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand
• Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook and departmental rules
• Ability to report to shift on time
• Enforce and comply with all policies and procedures for the Food and Beverage Department
• Completes tasks and goals efficiently and effectively
• Follows all safety policies and procedures and exercises caution when working
• Proficiency in communicating clearly both verbally and in writing to team members and customers
• Ability to work in collaboration with others to achieve team goals
Work Environment and Physical Demands
• Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time
• Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
