ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Event Settlement Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate financial reconciliation and settlement of events, including concerts, festivals and other live entertainment. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, rational financial acumen, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams. The specialist will handle the post-event financial process, from gathering all necessary documentation to preparing settlement reports and issuing final payments.

This role is for someone interested in the intersection of live entertainment, culture and financial operations within an event space setting.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and reconcile all event-related financial data, including revenue from ticket sales, sponsorships, merchandise, concessions, and expenses such as venue costs, talent fees, production costs, and staffing.
  • Compile and organize event documentation, such as contracts, invoices, and ticket sales reports, to ensure accurate settlement.
  • Calculate final financial settlements based on pre-agreed terms, such as revenue splits, guarantees, and fees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Prepare detailed post-event financial reports that provide clear insight into event profitability, costs, and revenue streams. Present these reports to clients, internal stakeholders, or external vendors as required.
  • Serve as the point of contact for clients, venues, and vendors regarding settlement matters. Address and resolve any discrepancies or questions related to the settlement process.
  • Ensure all settlements adhere to relevant legal and financial regulations. Participate in audits and provide required documentation when needed.
  • Work closely with event operations, finance, and accounting teams to gather necessary data and ensure smooth settlement processes.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to streamline and improve settlement processes and tools, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial reconciliations.
