Responsibilities

THIS POSITION HAS NO DIRECT MANAGEMENT OR SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The feeder packer along with our secondary will rotate in the print area feeding, packing and stacking the product meetin all quality standards for customer orders.  In performing these responsibilities, employees are to work safely, efficiently and cooperatively in a manner that demonstrates team member involvement.

 

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
  • Will assist in housekeeping when the print operation is down for change over, allowing for a safe work area
  • Will inspect containers for quality defects before printing and after printing, have the ability to stop the press or equipment when a malfunction occurs
  • Will follow Plant and Department safe practices including bending, lifting and housekeeping
  • Will sign or initial each proper tray pack label for shipping
  • Will work with the Lead Printer to understand the customer order; type of product to be printed on, quantity of printed product and the quality criteria of the print to be placed on each piece
  • Understand the stack and quantity per tray, the direction of the product stack on the tray:  openings up or down, handles turned in and proper labeling
  • Know how to properly place container onto the madrel to avoid damaging the product or equipment
  • Will not allow containers to back up in the dryer
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Must be able to keep-up with the fast-paced production cycles
  • Position requires agility and consistant attention to detail
  • Able to tolerate constant repetition
  • Some workstations may require sitting or standing for long periods of time
  • Must be able to frequently lift, bend, and reach to perform necessary job functions
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds safely
  • Must be able to identify alpha/numeric product codes
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekend, holiday and over-time
  • PERFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Previous printing experience a plus but not required
  • Being able to read, write and communicate in English would be a plus
  • KEY BEHAVIORAL TRAITS FOR SUCCESS

  • Dependable, good attendance is mandatory and associates must report to work on time each day
  • Good communication skills - able to follow directions and pass on important information
  • Ability to work alone and in a group setting
