The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Avionics Hardware Engineer – Fighters, in Berkeley, MO.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Avionics hardware systems design, integration, and analysis for fighter platforms, including interface units, audio systems, radios, and other communications control equipment
  • Works with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
  • Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
  • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
  • Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

  • An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Experience with military avionics technology and their associated interfaces, including MIL-STD-1553, Serial buses (i.e. RS-170, RS-422 or RS-232), hardware discrete IO, fiber/ethernet, etc.
  • Experience in requirements development, avionics hardware design & integration, subsystem/system/flight test, system verification, & production/fielding
  • 5+ years of experience leading or working similar projects or teams with a Bachelor’s OR 3+ years with a Masters

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Tactical Fighters platform knowledge
  • Technical problem investigation and resolution experience at platform integration level
  • Subsystem functional and integration test procedure development and execution
  • Strong technical coordination skills between Boeing teams and outside suppliers
  • Experience developing platform/subsystem ICDs, supplier SOWs, and technical platform/subsystem specifications and requirements
  • Familiarity with Agile Development Process
  • Project management/Control Account Manager experience – estimate new work/tasks, build a schedule, execute tasks, status effort

Typical Education/ Experience:

Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $96,050 - $129,950
