Bosch Cross-Domain Computing Solutions (XC) is a business division within the Mobility Solutions business sector of the Bosch Group. The division unites software, electrical and electronics engineers from the areas of driver assistance, automated driving, car multimedia, powertrain, and body electronics in a new unit. XC plays a leading role in shaping the dynamic shift toward ever more digitalization in the vehicle.

The Research and Development team in Penang location is the center of global engineering or this business division. Bosch Cross-Domain Computing Solutions (XC) is divided into five sections:

  • Engineering Software and System Test
  • Project Management
  • Project management and engineering support for small control units (xCU)
  • Engineering Hardware and Mechanics
  • Product data management, resource management and central services

Job Description

  1. Interact as change engineer for PCB layout update that requires major design changes.
  2. Translates input from electronics and mechanical design engineers into detailed PCB layout with approximately 3000 components.
  3. Conducts PCB layout feasibility studies for packaging, manufacturing and system performance on a high complexity design.
  4. Carry-out component placement and layout with "high-speed" circuitry of high complexity with analog and digital circuitry.
  5. Collaborate closely with design teams to resolve packaging, manufacturing or electrical design issues of a high complexity design.
  6. Liaise with counterparts in HQ in creation of component library and PCB footprint.
  7. Creation and maintenance of PCB layout documentation for manufacturing application.
  8. Creation of Gerber files for PCB fabrication.
  9. Contact PCB manufacturing factory and order prototype PCB for engineering sample production.
  10. Estimate and provide development effort required for PCB layout design including man-hour, duration, prototype PCB cost for project acquisition.
  11. Provide training on PCB layout design using various technologies in car-infotainment devices or modules application.
  12. Provide guidance, advice and mentoring on norms and standards established in automotive industry internally and externally. Eg. CDQ, TS16949, ISO26262.
  13. Plan and coordinates continuous improvement process activities to enhance and strengthen team.
  14. Participate in technical forum, exhibition to regularly keep up-to-date in latest technological development of electronics devices.
  15. Any other duties as assigned from time to time to accomplish related results as needed.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum 5-10 year working of experience in related field
  • Good experience in PCB layout application with EDA design tools: Zuken, Cadence.
  • Good knowledge in product engineering and problem solving tools (Change Processes, BES-PE, FMEA, DFMA, QFD, 8D, 6-Sigma).
  • Ability to write programming script using Perl.
  • Knowledge in high speed PCB design, PCB stack-up and technology is an added advantage.
  • Has good proficiency in technical report writing and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in additional language such as Mandarin would be advantages.
