Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR support and handle employee inquiries.
  • Administer HR programs like service awards and recognition.
  • Process unemployment claims and conduct background checks.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with employment laws.
  • Assist with payroll, new hire paperwork, and orientation.
  • Generate and analyze HR reports and data.
  • Organize employee events and recognition.
  • Support HRIS data entry and maintenance.
  • Stay updated on HR trends and best practices.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on HR experience required
  • Knowledge of Federal and multi-State employment law and equity regulations.
  • Experience using HR software and HRIS databases (Workday preferred).
  • Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  • DOT experience is a plus.
  • Effective HR administration and project management skills.
  • Willing to take initiative and work independently when needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly computer literate with capability in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and related business and communication tools.
