Project Accountant I

CDR Maguire, Inc., a national engineering and emergency management firm, is seeking a dedicated Project Accountant to oversee and manage the financial aspects of multiple projects. The Project Accountant I will track project expenses, monitor budgets, generate financial reports, and collaborate with project teams to ensure successful financial management. This position also involves preparing proposals, providing cost analyses, and maintaining compliance with company financial policies.

This is a hybrid position, 3 days office, 2 days remote.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage financial data and budgets for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams to gather data, produce financial reports, draft proposals, and evaluate project profitability.
  • Obtain cost estimates for supplies, labor, and other project requirements.
  • Continuously monitor project budgets to ensure alignment with target deliverables.
  • Work closely with project teams and corporate accounting to streamline financial processes.
  • Process vendor payments, payroll, and checks, ensuring compliance with financial policies and accurate transaction recording.
  • Prepare and submit accurate client invoices on a monthly basis, adhering to company invoicing schedules.
  • Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Project-based accounting experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for late afternoon/evening hours, overtime, and weekends for emergency support.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
