Job Description

Dewberry is seeking a Water/Wastewater Electrical Engineer (W/WW) to join our MEPS Infrastructure group in our Nashville, TN office. The successful candidate should have experience specifying, designing, and implementing electrical power systems for Water/Wastewater projects.  Position has potential to develop and lead a group of water/wastewater electrical engineers.  Will report to the MEPS Infrastructure Department Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical power system engineering and design for the W/WW projects.
  • Design opportunities included low voltage electrical power distribution, motor control, VFDs, lighting systems, equipment layout and related systems.
  • Provide electrical specifications, drawings, and cost estimates.
  • Review and approve contractor submittals.
  • Sizing conduit and wire, laying out electrical distribution equipment, and designing lighting systems.
  • Coordinate with instrumentation and controls engineer and other disciplines to successfully execute electrical designs.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • BS in electrical engineering.
  • 5-10 years of design in Water/Wastewater project or WW/W operation experience.
  • PE or ability to obtain within 1 year Required. 
  • Must be a self-starter with initiative, drive and determination.
  • Candidate must have a good working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Life Safety Codes, and other related Codes.
  • Good verbal, writing and interpersonal skills are essential for coordination with other disciplines, and client interface
