The TSO Associate is responsible for working within the Firm’s Transactions, Strategy and Operations practice providing financial due diligence, primarily focusing on buy-side and sell-side assistance to private equity funds, mezzanine funds, and strategic buyers.

The TSO Associate assists with the execution of projects across a variety of different industry sectors and engagements, including pre-deal and post-deal. For pre-deal projects, the Associate will be involved in meeting with target management, preparing analyses, and communicating due diligence findings to clients. The Associate will work closely with the post-deal team to seamlessly transition from pre-deal to post-deal services.

Responsibilities

• Assist in buy-side and sell-side due diligence engagements for private equity, mezzanine funds, and strategic buyers
• Input and analyze large volumes of data to prepare an Excel data book, with an emphasis on the quality of earnings, debt and debt-like, and net working capital analysis
• Understand and evaluate financial and operational trends of target companies, in addition to challenging target assumptions
• Assist in preparation of agenda and during due diligence meetings with target management
• Create and design tailored reports specific to key issues, such as normalized earnings, financial reporting, networking capital trends, and indebtedness considerations
• Communicate due diligence findings confidently in a clear, concise and articulate manner both verbally and in written reports
• Collaborate and work within teams to ensure timely and efficient product delivery
• Develop and strengthen productive working relationships with client personnel

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Basic knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting issues with the ability to effectively communicate
• Excellent analytical and Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Effective time management skills
• Pursuit of CPA or CFA certification is a plus
• Ability to travel to client locations as required
