Overview of the role 

Euromonitor International seeks talented individuals looking to further their career in market research. If you have a keen interest in research, excellent numeracy skills and the desire to be at the forefront of providing business intelligence on the dynamics of consumer goods and services industries in Southeast Asia in particular, Euromonitor wants to hear from you. Applicants will need to have knowledge of consumer trends and the lifestyle issues which surround, impact and influence consumers in the region. 

As part of the Syndicated research team, you will study and build expertise across a myriad of industry sectors. As you continue to build your experience, you will have the opportunity to sharpen your areas of industry expertise and work with respective heads of industries and wider regional and global teams to further the research agenda, strengthen client relationships, and provide country/regional/global strategic analysis. 

How do Analysts / Senior Analysts make an impact? 

Analysts will build expertise in consumer goods and services industries by conducting trade dialogue with key industry stakeholders, working with central data sources and engaging in data analysis and market reporting. Their work will contribute directly to Euromonitor’s syndicated database - Passport - that informs and guides our clients’ strategy across product categories, industries and geographies. 

Analysts will be tasked with building expertise across three core areas: 

  • Direct research and project management to establish market estimates for category sales, brand and company performance, channel distribution, and more 
  • Creating actionable insights in both published and presentation formats 
  • Engaging with regional clients and the wider global industry 

Analysts / Senior Analysts work as a team under the supervision of their Research Manager. 

Key responsibilities  

  •  Update existing and developing new sections of datasets and reports for Passport industries  
  • Primary research, in direct and regular contact with key industry players to build data and trends for the purpose of advancing Passport’s country level understanding  
  • Secondary research, to gather published information across a variety of source types such as company financials, official statistics, trade press, brokerage reports, etc 
  • Work seamlessly with central data teams to provide updated sources, to verify and provide feedback on centrally produced data 
  • Produce insights-driven content and report writing at the country, regional, and global levels 
  • Client-facing responsibilities and provide client support, responding to data and content queries, and insight exchange requests, etc 
  • As expertise develops, key responsibilities will evolve further to include strategic industry analysis, client meetings and presentations, industry presentations and liaison (such as conferences), and other industry related work 
  •  Research track record, proven in gathering primary input from industry stakeholders 
  • Ability to synthesize multiple sources of information for data analysis and interpretation 
  • Trend identification, analysis and report writing   
  • Keen desire to engage industry stakeholders and build research contacts  
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English, superior communication skills 
  • Proficiency in a Southeast Asian language as a value add 
  • Flexibility and a proactive approach to managing workloads 
  • Strong attention to detail and tenacity 
  • The ability to work independently and under pressure to tight deadlines
