To be considered for the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position at Geisinger, you must hold a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant studies and have obtained certification as a Physician Assistant from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Additionally, candidates are expected to have at least six months of experience in primary care, emergency medicine, urgent care, or critical care.

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Geisinger ConvenientCare, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and treating common medical problems, conducting routine health exams, administering immunizations, and providing wellness services. You'll float between several clinics, offering care to patients of all ages, from infants to seniors.

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position at Geisinger features a rotating schedule with 14 shifts per month. You will work weekdays from 8:45 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. and weekends from 7:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Importantly, there are no overnight shifts or mandated additional shifts, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Geisinger, you'll have minimal patient call responsibilities. Generally, call duties involve approximately six nights a year, focusing primarily on critical lab results rather than direct patient communication, which helps manage your workload effectively.
