ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Designer, Electrical Power to join our team supporting the Nevada National Security Site! This position is full-time and will be based out of Mercury, Nevada.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Site Power operations and engineering staff by preparing high voltage electrical and wiring drawings for site power comprised of transmission, substation, and distribution elements up to 138 kV.

  • Contribute to and develop routine layouts, detailed drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams and all views and dimensions necessary for construction.

  • Support engineers and designers of all disciplines through a variety of tasks including proposal drawings, red marks, and sketches.

  • Locate, update, and develop new drawings or updating existing drawings to address a backlog in configuration management needs.

Requirements

  • Education & Years of Experience – High School Diploma and 10+ years of relevant experience.

  • Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.

  • Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.

The NNSA's Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) helps ensure the security of the United States and its allies by supporting the stewardship of the nuclear deterrent, providing emergency response capability and training, and contributing to key nonproliferation and arms control initiatives. It executes unique national-level experiments, supports national security customers, manages the legacy of the nuclear deterrent, and provide long-term environmental stewardship for site missions (energy.gov).
