Mammography Tech I/II

Responsibilities

Upon the order of a qualified physician, the Mammography Technologist will utilize equipment which produces ionizing radiation to obtain images for diagnostic purposes according to policies, procedures, and protocols of the KSC Radiology Department and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. The Mammography Technologist will perform Mammography and DEXA studies. The Mammography Technologist will utilize the designated Radiology Information System (RIS) and designated PACS system. May be assigned to other duties, technical or non-technical if training, experience, and credentials are deemed adequate by supervisor to perform those duties.

Salary Range: $71,692 - $98,302 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

 

Qualifications


Education


Required: 

 

Mammo Tech I – High School diploma or GED. 

 

Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program. 

 

40 hours mammography training approved by the ARRT and 25 supervised exams to meet the minimum initial 

 

FDA & TMB requirements for mammographers

 

Mammo Tech II - High School diploma or GED. 

 

Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program. 


Preferred: Associates in Applied Science-Radiology Technology.


Experience


Required: 

 

Mammo Tech I- N/A

 

Mammo Tech II- 40 hours mammography training approved by the ARRT to meet the minimum initial FDA &

 

TMB requirements for mammographers 2-years’ experience in mammography or 1-year KSC experience in  X-

ray and/or SCNB experience.


Preferred: 

 

Mammo Tech I - Minimum 1 year Mammography and DEXA experience.

 

Mammo Tech II - Mammography and SCNB experience.


License(s)


Required: 

 

Mammo Tech I - ARRT (R) MRT-General Certificate, Employee must attain ARRT(M) within one year of 

 

eligibility. 

 

BLS through American Heart Association.

 

Mammo Tech II - ARRT (R)(M) MRT-General Certificate,

 

BLS through American Heart Association.


Preferred: 

 

Mammo Tech I - ARRT (R)(M)

 

Mammo Tech II - N/A


Special Skills


Required: 

 

Mammo Tech I - Experience using Microsoft. 

 

Working knowledge of mammography quality assurance measures and accreditation requirements.

 

Mammo Tech II - Experience using Microsoft. 

 

Working knowledge of mammography quality assurance measures and accreditation requirements. 

 

PACS and RIS experience.


Preferred: 

 

Mammo Tech I - PACS and RIS experience.

 

Mammo Tech II – N/A


Other 


Required: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
