Due to growth, L.E. Smith, a subsidiary of Cutting Edge Countertops and a leading manufacturer and distributor of high-quality countertops and surfaces, is looking for a Commercial Estimator to join their team based in Bryan, OH.


This is primarily a remote position with the occasional need to be on the job site or in-person in Bryan, OH.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support all aspects of subcontractor and supplier estimating and bidding processes
  • Process RFQ, RFP, and internal pricing requests
  • Responsible for drafting, proofing, reviewing, and delivering proposals
  • Work closely with Sales Representatives, Project Managers, and other staff, getting their contribution to proposals
  • Ensure company compliance with bidding regulations
  • Develop and prepare presentations and proposals to existing or new clients
  • Work on multiple company bids simultaneously and deliver per deadline objectives
  • Operate and maintain proficiency in all internal estimating systems, technology, software
  • Minimize risk by implementing quality assurance controls in the estimate. Promptly report changes and issues in scope and revenue to senior management
  • Identify and execute strategic opportunities within the proposal to help secure the work
  • Preparation of detailed shops and renderings
  • Effectively and professionally communicate inside and outside the organization
  • The position is remote, and we expect a high degree of self-direction and accountability
  • Travel is occasional , when there is a need for job site meetings or pre-bid walk-throughs.
  • Quarterly attendance in person at L.E. Smith offices in Bryan, Ohio
