Director of Sales – Energy & Sustainable Solutions: This is where you come in.

As the Director of Sales – Energy & Sustainable Solutions, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the strategic sales execution of MacDonald-Miller's diverse energy and sustainability solutions. This role leads the development and acquisition of projects, while providing strategic direction in sales strategy, client acquisition, and customer experience. You’ll ensure excellence in project delivery across MacDonald-Miller’s comprehensive energy and sustainability portfolio.

Focusing on efficiency, sustainability, and innovative energy solutions, you’ll align client needs with impactful solutions that drive growth across multiple business areas.

Top deliverables in the first year to be a hero:

  • Sales Strategy and Market Expansion
    Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth and expand market reach, ensuring alignment with business financial goals. This includes identifying emerging market opportunities, maintaining a strong sales pipeline, and optimizing team performance.
  • New Business Acquisition and Project Development
    Identify and secure new business opportunities within the energy and sustainability sectors by engaging with clients, understanding their needs, and translating them into tailored, innovative solutions. Oversee the full project acquisition lifecycle, including contract negotiations and closing deals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Operational Excellence
    Lead cross-functional collaboration between sales, design, project development, and execution teams to ensure seamless project delivery and an exceptional customer experience. Streamline processes for increased efficiency and accountability, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive success.
  • Industry Leadership and Client Engagement
    Strengthen the company’s position as an industry expert by representing the company at key events, building strategic partnerships, and creating thought leadership content. Work closely with clients to assess their energy and sustainability needs, providing tailored solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Financial Management and Performance Monitoring
    Oversee and align sales and business development activities with the company’s financial objectives. Monitor project profitability, track key financial metrics, and report results to senior leadership while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and performance guarantees.

The Director of Sales – Energy & Sustainable Solutions reports to Maria Boyer, Vice President of Performance Contracting, and will play a key role in a collaborative team focused on driving a variety of projects and initiatives to support our growing business. This high-visibility position offers the opportunity to engage with all levels and departments across the organization, making a significant impact on our success.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of proven experience in generating substantial sales pipeline and revenue within the energy and sustainability sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability practices.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities, with a demonstrated track record of working cross-functionally to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • A robust network and industry knowledge within Facilities Management, Portfolio Services, Workplace Management, and/or Commercial Real Estate Technology.

Compensation: $170,000 to $200,000 base plus a generous variable compensation package based on sales
